In the second article there is mention of some static CMSs that I don't think made it into our old thread (http://th3core.com/talk/web-development/flatfile-cms-du-jour/).  Looks promising.

I open pages nowadays that ScriftSafe blocks as many as 40 outside page elements.  On brand-name sites, I almost never see less than 20. I can usually get the page running by turning on 2-4 of those.  It's ridiculous.
