It would certainly confuse the regulatory process.  It also begs many questions:

1. Will it be pure Apple index or a hybrid blend of Applebot index, Bing and/or others?
2. Will you be able to change the default to other search engines?
3.  How private would it be?
4. How much does it customize web search and can that be turned off?
5. Will this be just for Siri or also browser?  I never use Siri cos I don't like talking to my devices.

Personally, anything that would hurt Google's search and advert share is cool, but as an iOS user I hate the way Apple dictates what you can use within their walled garden. (ie. every browser has to use Safari's rendering engine, you have limited choices for search engines, etc.) so I'd like Apple Search to be one of many choices in search rather than be locked into having to use it.
