That reminds me of a story.
As mentioned before, my dad was an electo-mechanical whiz kid and serial entrepreneur. By the time he was in his late teens c. 1930, one of his businesses was a radio shop. He was also a big-time prankster, so he built a big jamming device that blocked reception for pretty much the whole small town. Since this was the golden age of radio, I'm pretty sure the townspeople didn't think that was funny.

Can't blame him with that expertise and understanding of the repercussions. Probably more serious now given our dependence on it. Bet most folks in 1930 would just give a momentary curse about the lack of comms and get back into 'real world' stuff!
