We've been in high-level talks with neighbors about an electric trail bike co-op. We are thinking like six people for two bikes, since none of us want to ride every weekend. It's not this brand that Jeff test rode about a year ago, but this looks fine.
The pricing on the Surron bikes is fairly low. The ones we were looking at were more in the 9,000 to 10,000 pound range (12000 - 13000 dollars)
So the Sur-Ron street legal bikes are classified as mo-peds. They weight 70kg. So that's about right. Way beyond a bicycle and very light for a motorcycle.
I think the neighbors are thinking more along the lines of an Alta Redshift EXR (street legal so would not have to be trailered to trails)

$13,000... so not cheap to buy 2 of them.

Here in NC, you'd have to buy liability insurance. We had a problem with gas scooters (30 mph top end, supposedly) so the state required insurance ....now there are no more gas scooters.

You're fooking crazy!
Electric bike trails sound fantastic, hope you can make them a reality ergophobe. I've put 750 miles on my cheap e-bike this year. Eyeing a Vector Typhoon or Vortex.

Well, that's why we don't have any yet. The premium over an ICE bike is just too high still. Even the e-bikes that are mostly like bikes are ridiculously priced at the higher end.
