American ingenuity at its finest.
After my son-in-law died last spring, I kept working on ways to reduce my daughter's home maintenance workload. One of the things that I find most useful is a medium-powered, electric pressure washer. So I shipped her one, then eventually went down and gave a live demo of how it can be used for much more than washing (weeding, trenching, leaf blower). I also knew that once you get hooked on using pressure washers it is strangely satisfying and cathartic work. After a while, she did indeed get hooked and has done quite a bit of yard work with it.
That said, I showed her the flame thrower and mentioned that Elon Musk had sold a bunch of them...
Her: Ooooooh! I WANT one!
Me: But you're in hot, muggy South Carolina. You never have snow.
Her: I'll think of something ...it's like the pressure washer, except flames.
She is your daughter alright, RC. The acorn didn't fall far from the tree. :-)
I have seen people clearing ice here with torches and the like but never a flame thrower like that.
>pressure washer
Picked up a 3100 psi pressure washer last spring. Definitely addicting to use. Just have to convince my kids that it isn't a giant squirt gun.
