I can certify that networking center at the hotel I worked at looked nothing like that. The wifi "sucks" at the hotel (which is to say it's 10X better than we can get at home) because though they buy every bit of bandwidth the local provider will sell them, it is simply not enough to keep up with the demands of today's guests who expect a hotel network to let 250 people (or 2500 in a big hotel) simultaneously stream Netflix at 8pm.
