Scores of people have tried and failed to change password, many also reporting that they changed pw only to login again and find borked data.

They're not making you change your passwords now if you think your original one was strong enough.
I think they handled the situation pretty well overall, but there were some system overload issues in the beginning when everyone was trying to login and change info at the same time. Things have settled now for most it seems.
