Why "save us"?
This is the sort of invention where, in the past, I've thought it would great to block IR, but only in the summer, and be able to get the benefit in the winter. Isn't it better than office buildings cranking the A/C in the winter because there's so much heat gain?

Yeah, I switched from my standard negative mode ---bound to confuse everyone. hhh
I hope this comes to fruition. I do wish, however, that this and other glass-altering tech could somehow ditch the power requirement. That's a big drawback.
I was an early adopter of e-glass in my whole-lotta-glass house. Great stuff ...in the summer. A heat boost in the winter would be nice.
