Nice find. We almost went with straw bale construction, but the contractor had never done one in a place that received a lot of snow and he wasn't comfortable with the possibility of persistent moisture (he does straw bale as his preferred construction, but he's one of the few contractors who likes to try new things). Anyway, I still have an itch in the back of my mind to build a house some day that is anything but framed. SIP, rammed earth, hemp blocks, straw bale.
I do wonder, in this case, what kind of smoke gets generated when a massive wildfire rips through an entire neighborhood of hemp block homes ;-)
