Hang onto any analog appliances you might have and plan to use. They're in for the long haul **AND** usually easier to integrate with a smarthome system because they are dumb.

I just converted a 90's central vacuum to old school analog. It had a small OEM transformer-relay combo device that is no longer available. The replacement is a printer circuit board. I put in a 'standard' 24vdc transformer and heavy-duty relay that were about 10 times the size of the original part. Works!
At our cost of water, it is not worth it to keep an analog washer from 25 years ago. Huge reduction in water usage from that. Even at a 7-year lifespan it's probably worth it.
