Title: Low Tech Magazine's Solar Powered Website

This was an interesting podcast right up the alley of several here.

Low Tech Magazine has built a solar-powered website. There's technical hurdles. There's pushback from people who don't like it. There's a "solar protocol" that updates DNS to servers in the part of the world where sun is shining.

But LT's website is just a very low-power server with a single solar panel in a guy's window in Barcelona. In the winter, it just goes down when the battery runs out. It's almost like a performance art piece in a weird way.

"The website is built with Pelican, a static site generator. We have released the source code for 'solar', the Pelican theme we developed here.
