Title: Answer it facebook ads any one tried them?
Post by: Rupert on May 27, 2011, 10:08:58 AM
They claim to sell a cheap impression, on the basis that they buy in bulk.

Anyone tried them?  Seems quite competitive, and a compelling sales pitch but after 2 months I have had zero (or as close to zero as I can tell) click throughs.  I then did a bit of trawling and found this:

Could be just a bit of bad mouthing, but the experience has left a bad taste in my mouth, as their reporting is not very open (simply they tell you after a month your impressions, it is not real time.  I mean in 2011??)

Oh and no one has clicked on an ad, that they designed,  If anyone saw it.....

I've never placed ads on FB, but I have clicked on a couple of FB ads.  That is something I almost never do, since I am generally blind to banners and text ads.  One was for a small press fiction ebook, and I forget what the other was for. Didn't buy either.

FB has some decent targeting if one has their profile filled out.

Hey Brad, I don't think he was demanding you 'Answer it', but rather had anyone tried this company's (named 'Answer It') service.

never heard of them but I immediately assumed it meant facebook ads arranged as polls, and thought it was a brilliant idea. Bet the clicks would be massive.

Do they tell you the profiling they're using to target Rupert? As far as I can tell, the right product with the right targeting is brilliant, the wrong product and/or wrong targeting on FB is a total waste of time and money.

Well, that was what sold the idea to me.
The people they show my ad to are all fan of my competitors.

So they are  interested in the product, and I am not showing ads to my 16 year old niece.

To put that into perspective, I apparently had 178042 impressions in 1 month. Now I usually get about 30 40 clicks from facebook to my site.  Not a lot. That month I still had 30 to 40 clicks.   It had NO IMPACT WHAT SO EVER.

0.1% click throughs would be 178. From an accurately targeted audience?
To not register any extra at all is incredible to me.

Which is why I ask if anyone else has tried them. Just because I didn't get what I expected, might be just me.
