Since The Core is mostly sunshine and rainbows, I thought I would add just a little bit to the general goodness...

Sometimes there's only so much I can read about the latest tech giant or nation state doubling down on surveillance or the famous economist they paid off to produce a report ;-)
I get The Week every now and again from a neighbour who knows I like it.
And I LOVE good news. uplifting, thx for posting!
I like this kind of stuff. Also James Webb has done some amazing things in the last week.

Our hummingbird garden is established and doing well. Lots of bees & small butterflies all the time & a few large butterflies. When I watch for a while, I see hummingbirds sampling some of the flowers. Two or three hummingbirds are in the garden pretty much every 5 minutes from dawn to dusk. Spend 5 minutes watching and it'll definitely give your spirits a boost. Hubitat & adapted power tools have made for minimal maintenance.
Two hummingbirds started the season here (April) as unusually wild & skittish but now 3 or 4 5 are finally eating regularly and frequently from the feeder & garden. Debbie says the big freeze in Texas last year hit while they were migrating out of Mexico and Central America and likely killed some of our "regulars'. The goal is the get the garden loaded with long-blooming hummingbird porn before the fall migration (late September) begins so we'll entice more to return next year. Ruby-throated HBs *sometimes* decide not to migrate. There is a small colony of them that are staying on the barrier islands about 25 miles east of here.
