Funny, I was just writing notes about the old web portals.  I'm surprised Google is cluttering up their index page like that.  I could see them creating a portal page "portal.google.com" with that stuff on it but I seriously wonder if anyone would use it.

Google looking more like a 2006 search portal and Netflix is running commercials. Twilight of a golden age.

I keep my 'working' tabs pinned but used the G page for new tabs.  The brave search page is better ---even MORE stark and barren than the old G.  The brave serps ain't half bad, either. I spot-checked a few using known threads in the hubitat forum as a target.

I don't see it now, having switched to Brave for the home tab, but it's still there.

I thought G might be insering this on browsers with blocking or user-scripts, but I just checked and I don't have standard defensive stuff enabled.
