I use a French Press which makes me a snob. But less of a snob than my sister who will only use a pour over.
French Press makes the best coffee in my opinion. I guess I should dust off my French press some time.

Pour over here. *sniff* One of those Melitta things with the #2 filters. Made by Germans so it must be good. Dirt cheap and no moving parts, no internet connection, rinse to clean. Although I use preground Aldi French Roast.

An all-steel French Press that is insulated. No filters to buy. Nothing plastic. Takes up minimal space. It will probably outlive me.
Meanwhile, we have the same press and a Keurig in the rental because I noticed that a very very large percentage of our friends and family did not know how to use a French Press so I assumed many renters would be stymied too. So the "eco conscious" ones bring coffee and use the press and the rest use the pods (The problem with the press is they mostly had no idea how much coffee to put in and how long to wait until pushing the plunger - the basic mechanics of it are obvious).
I enjoy the smell of coffee and I even like coffee ice cream okay, but the taste of real coffee is just not my thing (which surprises me considering how much I like very very dark chocolate). So I've had fewer cups since college than I have fingers on one hand. So this press that hides high in the cupboard and comes out when family or friends stay over, is perfect for me.

Poured my first cup at the light at Morgans Corner, snacked on cheese and crackers and coffee for 350 miles, filled tank south of the Delaware Memorial Bridge, made a second pot of coffee, pulled into Fair Haven at 4:30pm

Looks pretty good. I have a french press on a shelf too. It's a glass single serving one that I use to use when I worked in an office with coworkers and wanted to drink decaf when everyone else drank regular. I've been too lazy to use it in the last few years.

Which brings me to my next point. I am one of those people who are very sensitive to caffeine. The first time I get some caffeine in me after abstaining for a while I feel amazing and I'll be wide awake for many hours. After a couple of days though I am already dependent on it and will get terrible headaches if I don't have any. In that sense I've been addicted to caffeine/coffee several times.
The way I roll now is I primarily drink decaf coffee for the taste and avoid caffeine except on occasions where I need to stay awake (like a long drive for instance) or if I am in a situation where there is no decaf available. Then over the next five days or so I will gradually taper down the caffeine amount until I am caffeine free again. I do this because I really love things that naturally have caffeine in them, like coffee, tea, and macha, but I want to avoid those brutal headaches.

I was listening to David Sinclair's podcast (longevity researcher at some top research institution) and he said that some people are highly sensitive to caffeine and, to his chagrin, he is one of them. Which means that though he thinks coffee is good for longevity generally, that's not true if you don't tolerate it well (mostly he means if it messes with your sleep). So though he likes coffee, he doesn't drink it.
