I seen an article on SEL about blocking chatGPT and it said blocking common crawl.

It failed to notice that you can ask chatGPT about websites and it'll be crawled by MS IPs. Seen examples where it scrapes about 3-4 pages a second then grabs robots.txt last. So you can't rely on honourable robots.txt blocking based on that.

I really would like to see the beginning of that conversation, the part that clued the person in on the name Sydney in the first place.   That was some very good snooping.
