If I had seen that in a Hollywood action film, I would have called bullshit
[SPOILER ALERT]
no way would a car go that high in the air from hitting a wheel
That was a lot of hang time.
>car go that high in the air from hitting a wheel
There was a video of a similar accident on /r about a year ago. It was a larger, heavier suv and a larger dump truck wheel, IIRC. The tire crossed the median and met the suv head-on. The suv easily cleared one of those waist-high concrete dividers.
Storytime: When I was 18-20, I was driving a 24' box truck with a pretty good load of electrical & plumbing supplies. As I crossed the top of the hump in a drawbridge, I noticed a truck wheel rolling down the right side of the bridge near the railing. The truck was going straight and driving ok.
That is, ok until I turned the wheel a bit and the whole cab dipped down on the right. I eased it off the road onto the shoulder. Yep, that was MY right front wheel I had seen rolling away.
Reminds me of a friend doing a wheelie... except the front wheel detached. Not nearly as dramatic, but still pretty funny
>except the front wheel detached
Yeah, I did that once, too. Drove the fork into the ground, flipped rear-over-front, and knocked the breath outta me (I HATE that!) for what seemed like 20 minutes.
A few years later, my first -and only- attempt at a wheelie on a Honda 160 motorcycle didn't fare much better with the Honda and its hot muffler ending up on top of me.
