Smart for Samsung to apply pressure in Google's moment of weakness. Just looking for better terms, IMO.
The quality of Google's search results have really gone way down in the last few years. The signal to noise ratio has been going in the wrong direction. I know we're all in a different category than the average user, but the amount of filler they put in between the actual results is so high now between the video suggestions, the "People also ask", the "Related", the ads, and even TikTok results it's becoming almost unusable for web search without "advance" options. Bing seem a little better to me, DDG is better imo.
Tim Mayer, then head of Yahoo search, told me "less than 2% of users use advanced options." What what I've seen, that may have been the peak usage of advanced search --particularly when they're searching on mobile.
