Title: gmail... slow for me, anyone else?
Post by: 4Eyes on June 23, 2011, 01:54:53 PM
I have been using gmail to collect most of my email for ages now - but lately it seems to have gone really slow, especially switching to a new label.

I am using around half my allocated space, and I wasn't seeing the same problem previously.

Is it doing the same for anyone else?

Not using firefox 4 are you?  I have problems with a lot of google stuff (and to be fair other Ajax sites) since "upgrading".

This os not a FF issue, this is G having you on a shit server.

I have had slow running accounts and invetsigated it. Others i have are fast.

I am on Chrome (could't adapt to the new FF layout - drove me mad)

Guess it could be the shit server issue - sometimes taking 7 or 8 seconds to open a new 'label'

I am downloading and deleting all my older mails now using 'getmail' - think I will use Sylpheed mail client as my base e-mail and keep gmail as a stripped bare spam filter.

thanks
