Title: Visa as your affiliate on 0% comm
Post by: GerBot on June 24, 2011, 10:15:51 AM
just had a presentation where Visa is promoting discount offers on High street bank websites via Tradedoubler for 0% comm.

TD will want to make something but if you have a brand and a offer that you can run for 3+ months this would be a nice marketing option.

anyway, just a heads up.

Sorry, I don't get that? It's Friday ya know..

Is Visa charging a 0% comm or is TD not giving any comm on the Visa offer?

sorry for not being clear.

Visa are setting up the deals.
So as a Lloyds TSB customer your have a list of 'exclusive offers' online becuase you're a Visa & Lloyds customer.

Visa make the ultimate call on who is listed and who is not.

The high street banks gets no comm
Visa get no comm.
TD take the equivalent of their normal override ut this time on the revenue, not the affiliate comm.

e.g. H&M give Visa a 20% off voucher code. Visa put this on Lloyds, HSBC, Barclays etc online customer areas. The banking customers looks and says wow 20% off and click. TD track this. Customer buys £100 worth of socks and saves 20%. So a £80 sales. H&M normally pay affiliates 5% but in this case they pay 0%. The only money they owe is the TD. To calculate this TD say, well normally affiliates get 5% and we gat 20% of 5%. i.e. 1%. So we'll just charge H&M 1% of the sale value. or £0.80.

So in this case H&M get major high street banks as affiliates, and save 4% on their marketing costs.
