It's behavior like this that makes me hope the courts just break Google up, lock stock and barrel.
It's gotten insane - I went to the Bay Area last week to visit my nephew. Drove around for a couple of days. When I got home, I got a scam text message from someone saying I owed a FasTrak toll.
I never get these. Some ad broker must be geo-fencing and somehow someone (Verizon) is sharing my cell number with them. In any case, some chain of entities is able to connect my location to my phone number and sell it to a scammer who texted me.
And for the record - pretty sure the only apps I used were Apple and Google Maps, Airbnb, Safari and the Audible app to listen to an audiobook.
