TL;DR - early investors in OpenAI (Series A) have netted 189X their investment at current valuations, while early investors in Olipop (Seed) have netted 256X

Olipop is selling in most stores at approx $2.50 to 3.00 for a can of pop.  They have convinced consumers to pay that per can.  Yes it's cheaper at Costco but still pricey.  Anyway you get a decent return at that price.

Unlike AI, you don't need a massive server farm with dedicated power plant and water cooling, all you need is a low tech beverage plant and canning line so much lower overhead.

Yup. That's sort of the overall point of the article - what's bright and shiny and getting all the buzz is not likely to be the most profitable investment.

Still, I'd be quite happy with either of those returns. Imagine putting a million dollars into either one at that early phase.
