Also, I'm getting concerned about just how much the3core gets right, sometimes fairly close to the predicted outcome.

To be fair, we make a lot of predictions ;-)

But I think it's true that big stories often get discussed here months or even years before they become big stories.

I'm sometimes surprised IRL when I mention something obvious and universally understood only to find I'm the only person in the room who has heard about it.
