The successor to the X120E is now in stock in the UK. Not sure whether it's going to be released in the US. The high-end one has a Core i3 in it, and there are a couple of lower-end AMD versions. Just picked this up for £363 inc. shipping from the Lenovo website:

Seems like a bargain for a netbook form factor with a bit of power under the hood and forecast 7 hours battery life. Voucher code for 10% off until Aug 10th is XAUG10. Crucial have 8GB memory for these for £44.
Jetboy - you are you find that thinkpad so far?
Really tempted to try using something from that range + a dock as my personal/work machine (their docks have 2 video out - dual screen at work, laptop at home & on the move).
I think you'd have to get something bigger and better than one of these if you wanted a dock. This is built down to a price, and isn't as robust as the more expensive Thinkpads.
I'm still installing software, but Photoshop runs at a reasonable clip, and OS X is usable under VMware. Those are the most demanding things I'm ever going to use it for, so it's powerful enough. The only downside is the the vertical viewing angle range on the screen is a bit poor, but this is a problem with most cheaper laptops. Other than that, I'm very impressed.
Having never used a dock, what is the advantage? I currently just plug in a monitor and wireless desk top when in my office and leave the laptop 'almost' closed.
With a dock all your stuff is connected to it. You just click the laptop onto the dock and remove it will everything still connected to dock.
I've used them quite a lot since the 90's even with the Macbook Duo230
Eurotrash : Do you still use one? I am really struggling to find docks on anything but laptops towards the top end (ie same spec, more expensive build).
Haven't used for for quite a few years now. They are always more expensive and the docks are more than a pat on the bum as well. Dell used to do one in the mid naughties.
Have just noticed that Targus and others have universal docking stations through USB - of course you won't get HDMI on those. IBMs were always good.
