I saw something recently where someone said, roughly: "Orwell imagined a totalitarian government installing cameras everywhere to achieve total control, but we installed them ourselves so we could see who was at the door."

> malaria

The death rate is surprising. I imagine that is because, as the article implies, the patients did not get diagnosed early because nobody thought it was malaria ("Because patients may not have traveled to a malaria-risk area, the disease can also be diagnosed later than usual.")

Fun fact: I got malaria in 1984. I think new strains have become more deadly since then. It was certainly the fastest weight loss of my life, but since I didn't really have excess weight to lose, it wasn't a good thing. When my mother first saw me, she said, "You left your butt in India!"

(and that is why the Iran war is not pushing prices higher - China has large reserves and lower demand, because they think ahead)

I was hoping to avoid ads by linking right to the crucial line (one of my favorite movie lines of all time)

And for those not wanting to watch the ads:

"There is a time to think and, gentlemen, there is a time to act. And this is no time to think."
