Yikes! So either be part of a botnet or get a new phone.

I keep thinking about how we seem to have an increasingly severe case of cultural memory decay (vaccines, UN, NATO, Russia) and wondering if this is possible only because all the Cold Warriors like Reagan, GHW Bush, Cheney, George Schulz, Kissinger and so forth are all dead.

One of the problems with "wearables" in general is that they extrapolate from some measure or set of measures to impute a metric. So there is the problem that the underlying measurement is often not that accurate (e.g. wrist-based heart rate for any activity that involves shock - running, jumping, cutting) and then the imputed metric is subject to error in the algorithm.
In the best cases, this results in numbers that are often good enough for most people on most days, but occasionally way way off for a given person systematically or on a given day for almost any person.
That's all fine when it's just for amusement, but where being off for half a day could have dire consequences, it will a lot harder to dial this in. I guess it all comes down to how consistently accurate a sweat-based measure of blood sugar can be.
In the worst case, they are just random number generators. Things like "readiness" scores are mostly ridiculous.
