Title: Hulu just came to Japan. Worth it?
Post by: bill on September 05, 2011, 08:32:06 AM
Anyone used Hulu much in the US? They just opened shop in Japan for some reason. They don't have much to offer in terms of content from what I've heard, but I'd expect that to grow. Do they have a worthwhile offering of content in the US? I was wondering if I had much to look forward to if I jumped on the bandwagon. (It's cheaper than getting a VPN and a NetFlix account.)

Never used it simply because the paid service also has ads.

I loved Hulu when it first started, before the paid service and when they would just show you one short ad per commercial break.  They seemed to make the classic mistake of down-grading their free service and then charging for the equivalent instead of offering folks something worth an upgrade.
