Title: Was this the worse online marketing strategy this year?
Post by: Rooftop on September 09, 2011, 08:47:28 AM
Spotted a tweet by Matt Cutts last night that he was reporting a fake Matt Cutts twitter account.

Less than 3 hours had passed since he tweeted, but the account had been removed and was also not appearing in the google index.  Apparently the profile had a URL attached to it as well and this has also disappeared from the listings.  Can't confirm that though.

Seems awfully tempting to do the same thing, but using a competitors link.

I was thinking the same. Have to be careful though, MC could have contacts as twitter and get IP related stuff.

So...you have a friend/ worker in another country report the competitor...easy enough to get around that..
