Title: Ebook Selling and Site Set up Process
Post by: ukgimp on September 12, 2011, 10:00:19 AM
Paging Edo:

Ed since, you did a great job of getting the best man speech website up do you have a simple process written down for what you did, or things you leaned.

Have you had any sales yet?

How is it going?

I'd like to hear some thoughts on this too.

Well, I'm not Ed but I do have a couple sites that sell ebooks. I get a sale or two a week right now.

It's pretty sloppy, they're one pagers, using paypal only, redirecting to the download via paypal after purchase. Dog simple to set up, just a couple minutes at pp.

I need to hang some support pages such as contact, faq, etc. I also need to build a receipt page instead of just redirecting to the download. I just threw this up to see if it would work. It works but needs more seo and some attention overall. It's on the list.

Main thing I learned is the price needs to be less than 10 bucks.

Hi Rich et al.

The process is still developing shall we say. Stopped Adwords after the first day - which got one sale - because the product and website are, although functional, far from finished and I didn't want to buy traffic and send it to something not up to scratch. Give me a couple of months and I hope to have it spruced up properly and I'll then be able to fill you on what's worked/hasn't worked and all the processes involved to get to that point. Very much still in the learning phase right now.

I can say at the moment I'm using Aweber as my email provider for the capture-box, and E-junkie which talks to Paypal and then sends the buyer a dynamic page to download the ebook from. I sense neither are going to be perfect but for the moment they'll do.

Cheers,

Ed

PS Drastic - two sales a week with very little effort expended is pretty good going. Can you say what the e-books are about?
