Title: appcelerator.com turns Javascript into a native iOS app
Post by: dogboy on October 16, 2011, 01:33:31 PM
http://www.appcelerator.com/

...look, I'm not a coder, so I have no idea what I'm talking about, but if you can code in Javascript, you can use their system to create native apps, including iphone apps you can sell in the app store.  I kept hearing about them, but I spoke with them at the X.commerce conference and was impressed.

I looked at this dome time back, for android apps really.  Pretty limited, but still interesting. If you have a simple idea for an app then it'll probably be enough.  It may have grown since I used it, but it was mostly being used to turn out low quality apps quickly (spapps ?)

My read is that they are now gaining traction and things are progressing to the next level with this venture.  I just got contacted by one of their sales guys, as part of a followup, so we'll see what they say this week.
