I think it's huge and could affect a lot of sites - one example is the js trick to prevent Google from showing an old date in the serps. That's probably gone.
What's your take on this?

I'd like to figure out whether they are trusting the links in the comments.
I also think that the timing is interesting coming just before the freshness changes.
