Following on recent reports that Google is considering acquiring troubled company Yahoo! after a failed bid by Microsoft[1], new reports are coming in that Google is considering acquiring troubled country Greece after failed bids by the European Union.
Greece, associated with the birth of modern Western culture, has come on difficult times in recent centuries. Briefly acquired by the Germans in the 1940s, Greece has since been struggling to fight off other suitors, most recently the European Union. In recent months, Greek citizens have rebelled against their government because of proposals to raise the retirement age from 52 to 57, an age most Greeks consider much to old to be working. Greeks feel, however, that they would fit in well with Google culture offering free gourmet cafeterias and workplace massage.
Analysts say that the benefit to Google is less clear, but it is felt that acquiring a country associated with the very birth of Western Culture will give Google access to a new trove of data and voting rights in the European Union, a position that could become valuable in event of anti-trust actions by the European Union. This development comes after Google's failed attempt to broker a deal whereby Google would acquire Puerto Rico and take on the expense of running PR in return for it becoming a full-fledged state with voting senators and representatives. Negotiations with the Trilateral Commission and the Obama administration broke down when the Obama administration indicated it would expect Google to henceforth pay taxes as part of the deal.

priceless.
Pleased to be of service. There are days when my procrastination knows no bounds. That must have been one of them.
