Bizarre structures in the desert in China discovered on Google Maps - Telegraph http://tgr.ph/v5nrY3
Any guesses?
no idea... looks like it's on the side of a hill?
Doesn't look like structures but the sand is a lighter color along the lines. Almost like it was hit with a laser or excess light was passing through a filter, as the rocky and sloped areas are darker with shadows. You can see vehicle tracks around the lines and going through them as well.
It looks like some joker over @ Google has been messing with Photoshop.
A piece of an old city plan used as a transparency filter maybe?
Weird tho.
Looks like they are about 25m across dont you think? The edges are very straight, and it is as if sand has blown accross them.
I have never been to that type of landscape, so no idea if that is likely. Maybe there is no loose sand there and I am only seeing shadows.
Finally, they are not flat, they follow the smaller contours. ie where there are "cravasse" like structures, the white line follow.
Most likely to me is someone having fun at Google. Just does not look real...
I know, it is an ancient spaceport :)
something similar to the west of it:

planes in a bulls eye a little more to the west:

Excellent find Jason. Those explanations make sense.
Damn Jason, that does make sense. I was hoping for some more speculation along the lines of a HAARP array, or something a bit more like that.
