Title: Computerized contact lenses

I was impressed by the computer on a USB stick. This is totally "out there" sci-fi stuff though.

amazing stuff.  never need to remember anything ever again, never need to learn another language, never need to remember directions... what will we use our brains for??  Will this bring a revolution like when we stopped having to hunt for food and instead grew it???

It's not directly relevant, but I'm reminded of an old short story from Omni Magazine, "They're Made Out of Meat"

They're Made Out of Meat"

:-)

It reminds me of two sci-fi books

- Deepness in the Sky, by Vernor Vinge. One of my all-time favorite books, but small wearable sensors/computers play a big role.

- Peter Hamilton, Pandora's Star, where everyone is augmented with built-in "arrays" all tied into the net.

It is incredible that ultra-small electronics don't need a power supply and can have enough juice just by tapping into radio waves to make electricity.  But that is exactly how the old crystal sets use to work.
