Title: .XXX domains now available

But are they pricy at $99/year.  That would make for some expensive squatting.

I shelled out a bunch of money during the Sunrise to block several trademark terms. I'll bet they have more companies wasting money to keep themselves out of the .XXX registry than actual adult sites interested in using it. They've got quite an ingenious scheme working over there.

Would be interesting to see what sort of exact match boost if any these get.

This made me laugh - MENTIONS PORN SO NSFW, althoo no nudy images that I could find.

HELP - .xxx porn sites went on sale today. Just purchased WestboroBaptistChurch.xxx, now help me sell it to a porn site. All profits will be donated to DWB!

HAAAAHAHAHAHAHA...DAMN I wish I thought of that...

Beware though, the Phelps clan, while a bunch of twats are *very* legal saavy.  They are excellent lawyers in that bunch, which is why they have been able to do such horrible things:  they know the line to walk.

The agreement terms were pretty clear in the Sunrise. If you had a trademark you could try to block the name. However, if there were a porn actor/company/film that used the name professionally then you'd lose the name to them. The registry probably has a lot of cash to fight off claims from people who come in late to the game. My understanding is that it's now too late to block registration of names even if you have a trademark.

My client tried to block his trademark, but he left it too late, literally by minutes.
The opportunity to register his name for blocking was cut off in the middle of the final day, it didn't last the whole day.

I guess a lot of people left it to the last minute. I applied for trademark protection months ago and had all the documentation ready to go from the beginning of the Sunrise period.
