I love this story and I don't know why.
Ya gotta watch the video here: http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/05/justice/oklahoma-intruder-shooting/index.html
QuoteHome alone with her 3-month-old son, McKinley of Blanchard, Oklahoma, said she decided to make a stand when the two men tried to break into her home on New Year's Eve.
McKinley, who had been widowed less than a week before, placed a couch in front of one door and went to the bedroom and put a bottle in her baby's mouth before calling 911, she said on HLN's "Dr. Drew" on Wednesday.
A 911 operator calmly spoke with McKinley, who asked if it was permissible to shoot an intruder, officials said.
"I've got two guns in my hand. Is it OK to shoot him if he comes in this door?" asked McKinley, 18.
"Well, you have to do whatever you can do to protect yourself," dispatcher Diane Graham responded. "I can't tell you that you can do that, but you do what you have to do to protect your baby."
In the end, McKinley fired a 12-gauge shotgun and killed Justin Shane Martin after he entered her home, according to a Blanchard Police Department affidavit filed in court Wednesday. Martin was armed with a knife, authorities said.
The kicker is that the 2nd accomplice who did not get shot is being charged with the murder. Because under Oklahoma law, if there is a death when certain crimes are being committed, the accomplice can be charged.
It probably won't stick but for some reason, I love that.
Yeah, I saw that. I liked the part where she was actually holding 2 guns, Rambo style:)

AFAIK, the part about accomplices getting charged with any death that happens during commission of a felony is pretty common. Five people rob a bank, one person shoots someone, they're all nailed with it.
Good for that girl, I say.
She did the right thing.
Something tells me there is more to that story than is being said.
Isn't there always? :)
Well, there is more. Her husband was 56 years old and died of cancer around Christmas.
Now, we could all call her white trash, or, it might be a case of "Since I'm going to die anyway, I'm going to marry a friend of mine so her unborn child can get the social security check that would go to nobody anyway."
Who knows.
I think it'd be neat if the NRA gave this girl a job as a spokesperson so she has money to afford this new baby and all of his needs. Maybe she can improve her life out of all of this..
QuoteWell, there is more
nah - I read all that.. I mean there will be more to the story about what was said by who, to whom, and when
