Roku and Channel Master DVR are out and Windows Media Center are in, which puts be back to having a Windows PC in the house. I won't miss my old Blu-Ray player, it was Best Buy house brand and not very good.
Win. Media Center does a great job of integrating web, my digital antenna programming, DVR and DVD/Blu-Ray all in one box. Okay the interface is very Microsoft but it works. But the biggest benefit is watching standard free Hulu on my wide screen TV! I'm liking that although it is hard to wrap my mind around having a browser (Opera, Rooftop, Opera) on my TV. AVG free for virus protection.
I'm using the free Unified Remote app for Android on my smartphone as a remote until Amazon delivers a IR remote and a wireless keyboard + mouse.
I guess if Windows 7 eventually starts to get weird I'll install Linux and a linux based media center, but for now I'll try this.
Any other software or tips for use I should be aware of?
