Post by: Rooftop on February 16, 2012, 11:12:54 AM
Wisdom of the masses on this tends to be that a number of (presumably hand picked) sources are trusted as a source of local citations. Wondering whether anyone has tested this vs "shitty citations also count".  ie, if I used PR distribution, directory submissions and articles with NAP contained in them would they have an effect?  Group wisdom says no, but just wondrin'

Local search - places listings.

Have another #1 result being made useless by the new bigger 6 pack of local results above it. Struggling to see why some of those 6 even appear.

I think the forum search is on the blink - I just tried searching and only get 1 page of results for every query.  I seem to remember that list too and it was pretty extensive.

I posted it ! :)

This thread was just one of those weird ideas that goes through your head.  I might chuck a load of junky ones in some unsuspecting persons direction and see what it does to local results.

The ones on the list I posted do work. It's just like returning to 199X watching my chap hear type them in manually.  I need a new elf for these things.
