Title: UBB sig link juice?
Post by: dogboy on March 03, 2012, 01:40:19 AM
I've been posting in a forum and thought it might be possible to add a linkable signature. They say no HTML, but apparently allow UBB links - anyone know if they might pass juice?

A lot of times they are nofollow.

Also, I used to make fake sigs to get different urls/anchors in each post.

Hehe that is a good one:)

They are probably no-follow.

BBcode is usually parsed by the forum software into HTML, so if you set up a BBcode link, it's a HTML link.

However, find it odd anyone would think sig links are worth investing in - Google started their big clampdown on these in Sept 2003.

Because the format is standard it should be easy to filter these after all other signals. I would expect sig links to pass very minimal juice.

Still increments the counters. Not everything has to have a big payoff
