I was actually just setting up a web camera for the dog and her new pups -- Long story and I didn't even know where to start.
I don't know how to put it into code on a page, or anything. Or what host to use.
QuoteJust realized that the p*rn folks are the ones who would probably know all about this...
Colin mentioned he was thinking of putting up a web cam at his 70 something year old Mom's house to watch over the stairs in case she falls. And I got to thinking that THAT could be big market.
So I ask: what do you look for in a live streaming host? Who are good ones to try? How is the reliability?
Have you looked into IP cameras?
I'm sure they will make the whole process a lot easier.
I work with live streaming. Events mostly, so different budgets involved.
livestream.com offer a free service which is really good as long as you sit through an ad first (as a user). For what you need it should be just fine.
Camtreams.com make it easy as well. No ads, but they pinch a feed of the stream.
If it's for internal use only then IP cameras remove all the headache. For keeping an eye on your wrinklies maybe a community approach similar to jabbakam.com would be the way to go.
