I don't think they are trying to rank for anything...I think it is a gift from a friend.
I'd probably delete someone from my contacts if they made me an infographic for my birthday. Free riding on someone's fame, yuk. It's not even objective, I guess what MC said is right in this case and signals the end of the infographic as a link bait/building method.
