...it was time to retire the old Beretta 92F, so I got this to replace it. Funny enough, I think this is exactly what our Military did too - same gun. It's much more compact. I like the (night) sights too. Very simple.
I'm headed to the range tomorrow with 250 rounds:)
The question remains: did you get matching shoes with that? ;D
heeheh well, no. Actually, unlike others I know, I talk and shop quite a bit but I don't actually get new guns too often.
I just never really liked my Beretta; never shot too well with it, compared to other 9mms I've shot. The problem is I got it as a present for high school graduation, so I couldn't ever just sell it. I mean, I could, but thats kinda bad luck or something. And my .44 is just way too big to conceal, and more for Alaska than Miami. And that little pea shooter .25 I carry is tiny, and I love that about it, but the problem is... well, it's tiny. And it's 1954 technology.
So after several years of deliberation, I settled on this one as the one I liked the most, for the money. Supposedly they are ultra reliable. There were a few I might like more, but they were 2X the price, at least. This one was out the door, with night sights and tax, for $418. (I'm adding some aftermarket laser grips.)
Lucky for you, you are not a Brit ;)

wow. that's scary, frankly.

They would probably say the same thing:)
>that's scary
You don't have to be rich to own a gun in America; you can buy pistols at half that price. This is just fairly good deal on a decent gun. Most of the ones you see on the Internet dont include shipping, and then you have to pay a gun shop a fee for doing the paperwork.
Well heck I bought a gun for my Secret Santa draw, so I guess I can relate to that :P No paperwork, cheap deal, lotsa fun

...we got ourselves a keeper here; that was my second clip of 15:)
I just got back from sending 200 rounds down range and this thing made me look better than I am. With the Beretta I'd get the target back and be both surprised and disappointed. With the Sig I'm always surprised and delighted:) My 30' groups looked almost as tight as the 15' group - everything in an area the size of my fist.
Wow, I really like this one. I'm really happy with this purchase. I spent 20+ years trying to get used to that Beretta and despite really trying, I never really did. Good riddance. I got myself a new girlfriend.
