...this one is going to hurt.
Move to higher ground :o
Bill, you are as cruel a man as it is flat down here:)
Bought a bunch more supplies last night - we're good for a few weeks. Also grabbed another 20 gallons of gas. Today is cleaning out the garage so I have a place to put outside furniture, etc.
Right now, they are worried about Tampa getting swamped in storm surge but SoFl looks like it is going to take it on the chin.
That's Nemesis for ya - for living where the sun shines every day ;)
Hang in there though!
Aye, good luck pal
attention seeker its only a cat 1 storm :P
we had worse Tueday after noon this week
yeah, as of right now, I agree. No idea if it can change though. I know in the past it gained speed before hitting, and they also have zigged when they should have zagged.
I dont know... I bought a bunch of food and water, and 20 gallons of gas. You know what they say - 'Better safe than without toilet paper':)
It's better to be safe than sorry, that's what I say.
Besides, I'm sure it's stuff you will use eventually, (hopefully) if things don't go as planned.
Best of luck
BTW, here's an action plan if you get stuck

We are thinking alike, Chunkford.
Believe me, I'm getting ready for some Hurricanes...

I thought you were buying land somewhere outside of Florida, DB? What happened with that idea? Weren't you looking for some quiet, mountainy place?
yeah, up in the Smokeys, but everything is is dependent upon the sale of this house down here...
Right now I'm trying to figure out if I should shutter the house or not. I don't think I'm going to right now. Its only a tropical storm... I moved all the furniture in. I guess I'll make the call tomorrow. The only time I was ever in a Typhoon was in Siberia, but that was in winter - so it's hard to imagine what warm and rainy would be like, but I can tell you it was pretty intense getting around outside. I actually questioned some of the structures we were in too and it was only a Cat 1.
>dependent upon the sale of this house down here...
I'm confused...I thought you had that house SOLD!??
fell through last second... they didn't get the mortgage.

neat cutting on the block paving ;D
>neat cutting on the block paving
What can I say? 'I'm a man of wealth and taste' ;D
I'm watching it sprinkle outside and hoping it just keeps going West and leaves my coconut tree alone. I guess we'll know in a few hours.
It is turning out to be a non-event where I am :P
Big waste of time boarding up, but at least I finished some problematic bracket mounts in 2 problem areas that needed to be addressed at some point. I guess a dry run isn't such a bad thing - the season isn't over yet.
is the J in black spray paint on the metal shutter so you know its yours 4 blocks away after the storm has subsided or the guy 4 blocks away knows who to sue for the damage its done to his car :)
its a '1' upside down:)
I could have rode this out with the windows open.
In situations like this you just don't know what's going to happen. Like the saying goes....
Yeah, I'm with you. I'm happy nothing happened. Just wish the forecasting was better ;)
Looks like Louisiana got nailed. We even ended up w some flooding North of here I didn't knOw about. Apparently it rained 14" up in Wellington, which was about double what we got here.
But the news looked pretty horrible last I looked...
