I'm also seeing conflicting articles about whether all K Fires will have advertising. So far, it appears that you will not be able to buy out the ads.

Having the opt out is consistent with Amazons past practice with ereaders.
I see Amazon tablets hurting Windows tablets more than iPads, but the price is so good on these I could see having a couple sprinkled throughout the house like extension telephones.
