Got one of these recently, apparently the purpose is to get me to reply. They've been extremely lucky with the targeting too, right after a conference where I did present a new (pre-launch) project. Pure luck on their part of course - but wonder how many times they get that lucky? The response rate could potentially be quite high, depending on the source of their database...
Welcome aboard
IrishWonder!
I've been getting a LOT of these. They are getting better and better. They now often mention my company's products and ask for price lists.
- They are never sent TO anyone
- Often the requested reply address is different from the sent address
- Almost always from Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail addresses
The latest versions provide a URL for me to sign up to view their inquiry.
To their credit they often make it past my spam filters.
Right - one of those I got pretended to be from info@aol.com, how's that for a product inquiry! Lol
