Title: facebook posts by others that dissapear?
Post by: Gurtie on November 23, 2012, 01:57:29 PM
We are having a lot of posts on clients walls which we get alerts for but which don't appear on the wall. Not swearing, CAPS, or in any way other obvious candidates for the spam filter and anyway no '.....' by which to discover them appears either.

Often they're not very well thought through (normally complaints!) and you can see that the OP may have deleted them, but its happening quite a lot lately and I'm starting to worry that people will think we're deleting their posts.  I've also had some issues with private messages disappearing (although in those cases I only have someone else's word that they ever sent or didn't receive)

Oh, and the numbers on the weekly summary reports bear no relation to the truth for one client.

anyone else seeing similar stuff?

well, we will have 7,900 people talking about this displayed on page. Pretty consistently between 7 and 12k talking about this. Constant interaction with shares and comments so its genuine interaction, no peaks of promotions or anything which would mean we would be wildly dipping up and down. weekly auto report then says 'people talking about this =0'

Obviously the weekly auto report is the one the board get on their mobiles on a friday night, and therefore the one I am expected to account for when they phone to ask whats going on.

Facebook don't seem to answer any questions ever, do they?!

Hmm now that you mentioned it, I checked our page weekly stats email and noticed the same... So it's no just you. Must be FB failing to pull in some values when generating that email? But if that's a bug on their side which it appears to be, I guess having enoug people complain about it would make them fix it, no?
