Bought one, it just arrived. Seems OK for $55 (I got the now-expired $10 discount)
It's going to be slow loading most pages but I really bought it for off-web stuff. If anybody sees a bluetooth dongle compatible with cheap Chinese android tablets, let me know.
Yeah, at 55 bucks it's good enough if it just works at all.
Sounded pretty good as an offline ebook reader, but the battery life seemed rather short. I'll be curious for a followup
Well, it boots, Dras. And it came rooted.
It gets surprisingly decent reviews overall, even in the modder forums (http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/35314-a13-generic-tablet/) ...with weak battery, lack of an available backup disk image, and lack of bluetooth being the common complaints.
Some are putting a 4000ma battery in it, but at $55 screw that.
I'm posting from the CheaPad. Using Opera mini the page rendering is slightly slow but not bad. I did get directly into the Play app site to download Opera, but it hung on the 2nd visit.
Runs about 2.5 hours while heavy browsing, no video.
Android/Opera mini defaults to the damn "app look" on gmail. I hate that.
Looks like a great device for kids at that price.
Yeah. To that end, I tested some mp3s on its media player. The speaker is crap but it works. If my son-in-law approves, I'm going to field test this on an 8 yr old.
Is there an earphone jack RC?
>jack
Yeah, though I haven't tried it.

I just got a couple of these for the kids.
