Title: how long before Big G gives indented slots in the serps?
Post by: rcjordan on February 24, 2013, 11:16:14 PM
I'm now holding 7 out of the top 30 slots for my term.  All of the 7 point to different pages on the same domain. Snow white seo, but it looks spammy.   I figure I'm due to get an authoritative-looking inset slot. Or are they going to age me for a while?

I've been seeing that as quite common since the Jan 23rd update at least.

Once you drill past the 2nd page, a handful of sites tend to dominate the next 7-8 pages.

That's about when things got weird over here.  It's changed again since my last post. Now the domain root url has moved to slot 8 and all the page 2 slots are gone. First secondary listing is page 3.  My guess is that the first page listing is firming up. To keep G primed, I'm drip-feeding it updates via pseudo-blog-format posts about every other day. These 'posts' are the one that have the poor man's cloaking of the date.  So far, G seems to have latched on to that.

Looks like I'm watching some sort of update while in flux.  Refreshed the page and now I have 2 slots on page 1 and 2 forum spams posts linking directly to pages in my site.  One forum post was picked up by Google Groups, that's currently #1 slot.  Other than the forum, the seo has all been on-page.
