... BUT!

Actually this seems like a return to common sense.

Why do those videos consistently make me want to stuff him into those holes in the wall behind him?

Heh.  Nobody spreads propaganda better.

I'm wondering if Google hasn't realized that their FUD has gone too far?  In the real world it is quite natural for a site owner to link to his other sites just as BMW might want to link to Mini.  Google is the one that screwed that sort of natural linking up.

I've been playing with this lately in non-competitive search and so far so good.

There came a time 10+ years ago where it became extremely difficult to hide your tracks with them anymore, so that strategy was abandoned, but I recently embraced it with (2) networks of five site hyper-crosslinked sites, with the same exact template, same IP, etc.

In the 90s we did the same thing to make it look like we were a popular site, linked by a bunch of different sites, but now the idea is make Google know they are all yours - like a truckstop oasis in the middle of the desert - it might not be much, but compared to what else is out there, it's important, and gets a spot on the map.

This goes back to my pretzel theory on 'magnitude'.  Theoretically, if you have an empty space, and you put something in it, it's hard to tell how big that thing is, because there is no reference.  So if someone else puts a slightly bigger/nicer/more complex thing in there too, it's still hard a little hard to tell the more important one, because relatively speaking there isn't enough cross reference for one to appreciate the true scale.

So my plan was to build a little interlinked web network, with an intense link signature, but then use a press release to get some white on white links to it... then a week later, dump them into the PR passing web directories, via Drastic.  LM, remember when I had you re-write hyperseek, so we could have categories on different domains?  It's like that.  Granted, the shade of lipstick has changed, but it's still the same pig.  In areas where there is little competition, this footprint is almost impossible for them differentiate from a legitimate large operation in a small industry, and and at that point you have achieved the goal: 'confusingly similar', and they will rank you higher than many simple 'on topic' websites.

As of right now, both networks show for their respective (non-competitive) 'exact match' terms on page 2-10, enough to think that all is going according to plan...
