I'm sure there are a few history buffs here. I was just watching Ken Burns documentary series on WWII. It is quite good, though from an American perspective, so I'm not sure how interesting it would be for folks on the other side of the Atlantic. I've also watched his Civil War one, which is also on that playlist.

Littleman, I loved the Ken Burns Civil War. For World War II I recommend "The World at War" .

Yes I believe it is. It was made in the 1970's when key eyewitnesses were still alive and could be interviewed. In my opinion it is the best documentary taking in the broad sweep of WWII.
